Reunion

Reunionis aFrenchoverseas island located in the midst of theIndian Ocean, east of the island ofMadagascar, South West ofMauritius. The island was previously known as île Bourbon. This enchanting destination is blessed with a tropical climate and beautiful volcanic landscapes, with its appeal being as much due to its white sandy beaches as its mountain scenery.

Administratively, Réunion is one of the overseas departments of France. Like the other four overseas departments, it is also one of the 18regions of France, with the modified status ofoverseas region, and an integral part of the Republic with the same status asMetropolitan France.
